Dr Richard Baker is a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. He is the Deputy Medical Director at the Young Adult Mental Health Service (Uspace) at St Vincent's Private Hospital Sydney where he has private outpatient consulting rooms and is an admitting psychiatrist.

Dr Baker is a medical doctor who undertook his specialist training in psychiatry at St Vincent's Hospital Sydney, The Prince of Wales Hospital, The Black Dog Institute and The Sydney Children's Hospital in Randwick. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP).

Dr Baker is dual subspecialty trained in child and adolescent psychiatry and forensic psychiatry. He is a fully accredited member of the RANZCP Faculty of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and the RANZCP Faculty of Forensic Psychiatry. He has completed a Master of Forensic Mental Health at the University of New South Wales . He is a committee member for the Bi-National Section for Forensic Child & Adolescent Psychiatry with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists.

Dr Baker is a Conjoint Lecturer with the School of Psychiatry at the University of New South Wales where he is involved in both teaching and research. He has published several papers in peer reviewed journals. He is a reviewer for the peer reviewed medical journal Australasian Psychiatry.

Dr Baker is involved in Junior Medical Officer supervision and training at St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney and at the Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network. He is an accredited supervisor with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists.

He has a public appointment as a Staff Specialist for the Adolescent Court and Community Team with the Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network.

Treatment Services
Dr Baker provides psychiatric assessment and treatment for children, adolescents, young adults and their families. He has experience managing anxiety disorders, mood disorders, post traumatic stress disorder, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, eating disorders, addiction, personality disorders and psychotic disorders.

Dr Baker’s private outpatient consulting rooms are located at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Sydney. Dr Baker is an admitting psychiatrist at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Sydney (Uspace) and at the Northside Group St Leonards Clinic.

Medicolegal Services
Dr Baker offers psychiatric assessments for children, adolescents and adults for medicolegal reports. Assessments in civil, criminal and family law settings are offered.
